Retrieving Freedom is excited to announce their partnership with Wartburg College for the Keep on Learning (KOL) Presentations that are taking place on Thursday mornings starting on Thursday, March 30th at 9:00 a.m. in the McCoy Ballrooms at Wartburg College. The first presentation is completely free to attend and after that, the cost is $35.00 total for the next three presentations. The Keep on Learning presentations will be featuring students from Dr. Susan Vallem’s Social Work class on Animal Assisted Therapy. These students have been training and working with their dogs since January and are eager to invite you to learn more about getting involved with Retrieving Freedom.
The first session will include a general overview of service dogs and will feature the history and background information of how Retrieving Freedom began. The second session will feature a more in-depth look at veterans and how they are impacted when they are placed with their service dog. The third session will take a closer look at children with autism and how a service dog might be used to assist them with their daily activities as well as attending school with the child. The fourth and final KOL session will involve a wrap up session as well as ways that you can become more involved with fostering, volunteering or donating. We are looking forward to seeing you at our presentations!
