Victor is one of the latest additions to the Retrieving Freedom Family, named after Wartburg's College mascot - "Sir Victor".  Retrieving Freedom is proud of our relationship with Wartburg College through our direct involvement with the students and faculty in the social work and leadership departments.  Victor was born right here in Waverly, Iowa.  His mother is owned by Andrew Steiert, a Wartburg student and athlete.  Marit and Les Beisner, both Wartburg Alumni, along with their sons, Luke and Noah, who are current Wartburg Students will be fostering Victor through the early stages of his training.

Marit says "Our goal is to incorporate as many Wartburg Alumni as possible to help with covering the costs of transforming this little puppy into a life changing service dog for a veteran or child with autism.  In the time that our family has spent with Retrieving Freedom, we have seen these transformations become a reality.  I really want other Wartburg Alumni to be able to see and feel the impact that these dogs and the current Wartburg students are having with service dogs for disabled veterans and children with autism."

Throughout his two year training journey, Victor will be attending many events on the Wartburg Campus, spending time working with the kindergarten class at Cedar Heights Elementary, and incorporated into the Wartburg College classes.  Following this journey he will be placed with a veteran or child in need of his services.

Our goal is to cover the entire $20,000 it will cost for Victor's training, housing, vet bills, food, and training supplies.  We need your help to do this.  By clicking and donating to the link in this story your donation will go to directly support Victor in his quest.  Please share the link to this page with other Alumni that you feel would like to be a part of this life changing event.
