On Saturday, August 11 hundreds of people gathered at the Elk's Lodge in Perry, Iowa to get ready to send off the 8th annual Josh Davis Memorial Poker Run (JDMPR).
The JDMPR is an annual ride to honor the memory of Joshua M. Davis of Perry who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2010. Countless members of Josh's family, friends, and community rally together to remember him.
After a visit to Retrieving Freedom from Josh's family members, Retrieving Freedom was honored to have been present at this year's event. The love and support was eminent. Pictured is 6 month old service dog in training, Tilly, who spent the morning traveling with the poker run and meeting riders.
