Retrieving Freedom of Iowa recently established the Retrieving Freedom, Inc. Endowment Fund through the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa. Though the fund has been started, it’s time to kick it in gear! The Eddie Corson Family of Waverly, Iowa has committed to a challenge. If we can raise $10,000.00 for the endowment fund, the Corson Family will match it, creating a total of $20,000.00 for this newly established fund! The difference between a general donation and an endowment donation is this: A general donation can be used as the organization sees fit. A donation going into an endowment fund is forever set in an interest-bearing account, and only the interest can be spent which is invested to achieve long-term, capital growth.
Checks for the endowment fund should be made out to the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa with “Retrieving Freedom” in the memo. Checks can be sent to Retrieving Freedom, 1152 230th Street, Waverly, IA 50677, where you will receive a thank-you note. The checks will then be forwarded to the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, where you will receive a donation receipt for tax deduction as well as Iowa tax credit. Your donation will continue to work for Retrieving Freedom into the future.
Thank you,
Scott Dewey
Co-Founder and Director of Operations, Iowa
