Karaline and Rocky's Story

Placement | February 2019

Kara and her service dog Rocky were placed in February 2019. Rocky helps Kara during times of high anxiety, providing her comfort and unconditional love.

Kara's Story

Karaline is 7 and was diagnosed last year with ASD and ADHD. Karaline loves math and excels in it at school. She loves the outdoors and taking care of her Chickens: Nugget, Savory, Lemon Pepper, Grilled, BBQ, Fried and Princess Leia. Kara has a severe sensory disorder that causes major meltdowns. Fabrics and noise set her off and she cannot control her outbursts and emotions that overtake her. It breaks this mama's heart. Kara also cannot handle routine changes that happen unexpectedly, so adding another stop to my grocery outing causes her to lose control because of the unknown. We have to talk about outings days in advance to prepare her. She struggles with hitting, kicking, screaming, and hurting herself. I just want my baby happy - I think that is every parent's wish for their child. Kara also has a hard time attending events at our church and refuses to participate with the other children though she desperately wants to. This service dog would be such a blessing to not only Kara, but us as a family as it would help her and therefore make her happy and we'd be able to enjoy more things as a family. Thank you so much for helping us on this journey!
