Who We Are
Retrieving Freedom, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to changing lives through the training and placement of Service Dogs for Veterans with disabilities and children with autism. Our mission is rooted in compassion, service, and the belief that no one should face life's challenges alone.
Why We Need Your Help
Each Service Dog we train costs over $30,000 to prepare for placement—yet we provide them at no cost to the individuals who need them most. With your donation, we can continue to offer hope, healing, and independence to those who have given so much or face extraordinary challenges.
The Impact of Your Support
Our Service Dogs touch over 100 lives during their training, including students, inmates, and families. With 200+ hours of personalized preparation, these dogs are matched with their handler to begin a new chapter together. From Sedalia, MO, and Waverly, IA, we’ve placed 147 dogs across 19 states—and with your help, we’ll reach even more.
Retrieving Freedom, Inc. is an accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.
ADI is a global leader in setting and upholding the highest standards in the assistance dog industry. This accreditation is a commitment to excellence, transparency, and trust.
As an ADI-accredited organization, we undergo a rigorous evaluation process to ensure that our training, placement, and care practices consistently meet or exceed international standards. This recognition grants us immediate credibility and affirms our dedication to ethical practices and world-class service dog training.
For our Veterans, ADI accreditation brings added benefits, including the opportunity to receive Dog of Record status from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which may help cover veterinary expenses.
When you support or apply through Retrieving Freedom, you can be confident that you’re partnering with an organization that is not only mission-driven but held to the highest standards of care, safety, and integrity.
