Become A RFI Breeding & Whelping Foster
OPEN YOUR HOME TO A FUTURE SERVICE DOG MOM
Help bring the next generation of Service Dogs into the world while welcoming a loving companion into your home.

A Dog with a Purpose
Breeding females live with you as part of your family, providing companionship while playing an important role in raising future Service Dogs.
Support Every Step of the Way
Retrieving Freedom manages breeding decisions, veterinary care, and provides training, supplies, and guidance throughout the entire journey.
From Birth to New Beginnings
As a whelping home, you will care for mom and puppies during their first weeks, helping build a strong foundation for future Service Dogs.
Your Role as a Whelping Home
1
Welcome New Life
Be part of an incredible moment as you care for a mother and her puppies during their first weeks of life.
2
Create a Nurturing Space
Provide a safe, comfortable home where puppies can grow, explore, and thrive.
3
Shape Future Service Dogs
Help build confidence through early socialization, giving each puppy a strong start on their journey.
4
Supported Every Step
You are never alone. Our team provides guidance, supplies, and veterinary care throughout the entire experience.
Why This Role Matters
Every service dog begins with a strong foundation. By fostering a breeding female and helping raise her puppies, you play a direct role in changing lives.
Your involvement makes a direct impact in helping us place more service dogs with individuals who need them most.
Join our mission — because together, we can Retrieve Freedom for so many.

Retirement - From Foster To Forever
When a breeding female retires from the program, foster families are given the opportunity to adopt her permanently. By that time, she is already a beloved part of your home and daily life. This transition allows her to enjoy a well-earned retirement in the comfort of the family she knows and trusts, continuing the bond you’ve built together.
