About Retrieving Freedom, Inc.

Holding Ourselves to the Highest Standard—With ADI by Our Side

Retrieving Freedom, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Veterans with disabilities and children with autism by training and placing exceptional Service Dogs—always at no cost to our clients.

With training facilities located in Waverly, Iowa, and Sedalia, Missouri, our dogs undergo more than two years of personalized training to ensure they meet the unique needs of each individual they will serve. Unlike one-size-fits-all programs, our training is tailored to prepare each dog for the specific challenges and responsibilities of their future handler.

As an accredited member of Assistance Dogs International (ADI), Retrieving Freedom upholds the highest standards of care, ethics, and training practices. Our Service Dogs not only assist with daily tasks—they provide unmatched companionship, emotional support, and a renewed sense of freedom for the people they serve.

Through the power of the human-animal bond, we are truly changing lives—one Service Dog at a time.

Retrieving Freedom, Inc. is an accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

ADI is a global leader in setting and upholding the highest standards in the assistance dog industry. This accreditation is a commitment to excellence, transparency, and trust.

As an ADI-accredited organization, we undergo a rigorous evaluation process to ensure that our training, placement, and care practices consistently meet or exceed international standards. This recognition grants us immediate credibility and affirms our dedication to ethical practices and world-class service dog training.

For our Veterans, ADI accreditation brings added benefits, including the opportunity to receive Dog of Record status from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which may help cover veterinary expenses.

When you support or apply through Retrieving Freedom, you can be confident that you’re partnering with an organization that is not only mission-driven but held to the highest standards of care, safety, and integrity.
