Retrieving Freedom is thrilled to share the exciting news that Braxton and his Service Dog, Elton, are now officially a placed team!
Braxton is no stranger to the incredible bond between a Service Dog and their handler. He previously trained his first Service Dog, Niko, on his own. When he noticed that Niko was beginning to slow down, Braxton reached out to Retrieving Freedom to begin the process of finding his next partner. Having experienced firsthand how much Niko improved his quality of life, Braxton wanted to ensure he would continue to have the support, stability, and independence that a Service Dog provides.
From the start, Braxton and Elton formed a strong connection. Elton’s eager personality and dedication to his work made the transition seamless, and it has been wonderful to see him settle into his new role. Even better, Elton and Niko have become great friends, sharing in the joy of companionship and teamwork. Watching this new partnership grow has been a reminder of the impact these incredible dogs have on the lives of those they serve.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Chive Charities for their generosity and continued support of our mission. Braxton was the recipient of a grant from Chive Charities that helped make Elton’s placement possible. Their commitment to helping Veterans and individuals in need makes life-changing stories like this one a reality. You can read more about Braxton’s journey on the Chive Charities website.
